  • On Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary, the U.K. Forest Entomology Lab, along with the Forest Health Research and Education Center and Lexington Parks and Recreation, are hosting an event to showcase efforts to combat the Emerald Ash Borer, an invasive beetle that is killing ash trees in Kentucky. The free program will include presentations, activities, and hikes for kids and adults. Events will begin at 9:15am and continue until 12pm. For more info, download the flyer for the event.

  • Congratulations to Dr. Mike Potter and Dr. Nick Teets who were both honored with 2016 awards from the Entomological Socirty of America (ESA). Dr. Potter is the winner of the 2016 ESA Recognition Award in Urban Entomology, and Dr. Teets is the winner of the 2016 ESA STEP Research Award.     Sydney Crawley won the University of Kentucky's “Three-minute Thesis” (3MT) competition.  3MT is a research communication contest where graduate students speak about their current research to a general audience. Sydney will go on to represent UK (travel expenses paid) at the Southern Council of Graduate Schools Regional Competition to be held February 20-21, 2016, in Charlotte, NC.
