• UK post-doctoral entomologist Dr. Paul Lenhart attended the 13th International Symposium on Ecology of Aphidophaga in Freising, Germany, with help from a competitive International Organization for Biological Control young scientist travel award. Dr. Lenhart presented on the effects of toxic aphids on their natural enemy communities; work which was conducted at UK. The presentation received the best presentation award, which covered travel to the meeting.

  • On Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary, the U.K. Forest Entomology Lab, along with the Forest Health Research and Education Center and Lexington Parks and Recreation, are hosting an event to showcase efforts to combat the Emerald Ash Borer, an invasive beetle that is killing ash trees in Kentucky. The free program will include presentations, activities, and hikes for kids and adults. Events will begin at 9:15am and continue until 12pm. For more info, download the flyer for the event.

  • Congratulations to Dr. Mike Potter and Dr. Nick Teets who were both honored with 2016 awards from the Entomological Socirty of America (ESA). Dr. Potter is the winner of the 2016 ESA Recognition Award in Urban Entomology, and Dr. Teets is the winner of the 2016 ESA STEP Research Award.
