Research Interests

We research insect conservation strategies that support sustainable pest management in urban landscapes. This entails (1) viewing urban landscapes as ecosystems to understand how arthropods move between vegetation strata, (2) identifying plant traits that support natural enemy conservation, and (3) using landscape ecology to inform cultural practices (e.g. tree diversification) that conserve natural enemies and sustain biological control services.
