McIntosh, A. H., & Ignoffo, C. M. (1983). CHARACTERIZATION OF FIVE CELL LINES ESTABLISHED FROM SPECIES OF HELIOTHIS. Applied Entomology and Zoology, 18(2), 262-269.
Morphology: this cell line consists of a mixture of epithelial-like and fibroblastlike cells, as well as small, rounded cells; Growth characteristics: maximum cell population per milliliter and doubling time for were 2 x 10e6 cells/ml and 37 h, these cells grow firmly attached to the surface; Authentication: used isoenzyme analysis to distinguish from other lepidopteran cell lines; Microbial presence: mycoplasma-free; Karyology: this cell lines are typical of those described for lepidopteran; cell for most of the apart from diploid to polyploid; 85% of this cell line consists of 60 to 120 chromosome/cell.
