Feng, Z.Y., Pan, C., Liu, M., Tian, Z.Q., Chen, X.M., Kuang, X.X., Lu, C. and Pan, M.H. (2014). Establishment and gene expression characteristics of the silk gland cell line BmSG-SWU1 of Bombyx mori (Lepidoptera: Bombycidae). Annals of the Entomological Society of America, 107(5), pp.1018-1026.
Growth characteristics: doubling time = ~ 62.8 h; Morphology: cells of this cell line are long and thin shuttle cells; Karyology: percentage of cells with the chromosome number 2n = 56 was 76.28%, therefore considered a diploid cell line; Unique properties: cell cycle-control genes BmCyclinB and BmCyclinB3 of the G2 and M phase were highly expressed in BmSG-SWU1 cells.
