Morhphology: predominantly spherical cells (79.4%) with mean diameter of ~16.6 µm; with spindle-shaped cells (20.4%), ranging from 20.9 to 37.3 µm (mean 28.4 µm) in length and 9.2 to 18.5 µm (mean 13.2 µm) in width; Karyology: cell line is mainly composed of tetraploid cells and their number ranged from 116 to 131 (n = 31); Authentication: cell line is confirmed as having originated from the S. exigua by DNA amplification fingerprinting technique employing polymerase chain reaction (DAF-PCR) analysis.
