Zhang, A., Li, X., Zhang, H., Wang, H., Miao, L., Zhang, J., & Qin, Q. (2012). A NEW CELL LINE FROM SPODOPTERA EXIGUA (LEPIDOPTERA: NOCTUIDAE) AND ITS DIFFERENTIALLY EXPRESSED GENES. Journal of Applied Entomology, 136(8), 632-637.
Morhophology: spherical cells are predominant among the various cell types; Growth characteristics: population-doubling = 81.7 h; Authentication: cell line is confirmed as having originated from the S. exigua by DNA amplification fingerprinting (DAF-PCR) analysis; Unique properties: Real-Time PCR analysis is carried out to compare some differentially expressed genes between the cell line and the primary culture (genes selected: SUMO-1 activating enzyme, BCCIP-like protein, 10 kDa HSP, CypA, receptor for activated PKC, PDI-like protein ERp57, ALDH, DEAD box ATP-dependent RNA helicase-like protein).
