Morphology: these cells are predominantly fibroblast like; cells are broader and are closely aligned to each other in parallel arrays; Growth characteristics: these cell line are maintained at low temperatures (17°C); subcultured using trypsinization.

Able to replicate Helicoverpa zea single nucleopolyhedrovirus (HzSNPV), Autographa californica multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV) , Anagrapha falcifera multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus (AfMNPV 1), Rachoplusia ou multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus (RoMNPV) and Anticarsia gemmatalis multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus (AgMNPV); produces large number of occlusion bodies; no cytopathology (CPE) observed for Orgyia leucostigmamultiple nucleopolyhedrovirus (OlMNPV)
