(From DSMZ website) Growth characteristics: cells are difficult to culture! split cultures 1:2 every 2-3 days (cells grow partly adherent, but trypsin is not necessary); maintain at room temperature (about 20 °C) without CO2 exposure (keep lid of flask closed); confluent cultures can be stored at 4 °C for up to one week without loss of viability; after thawing cells might have a lag phase of up to 4 weeks
