Morphology: cells in this cell line (strain 1, S1) are mostly spherical (20 µm in diameter), fusi-form cells are secondarily predominant (40 µm in diameter); Growth characteristics: doubling time = 60 hr; Unique properties: another cell line strain (NIAS-Px-58 S3) was established by adapting mixed cell population to the culture medium of different composition (MGM-901 + 10% FBS); these cells are mostly tadpole-shaped cells with a long slender tails.
MGM-431 + 10% FBS or MM (or Schneider's) + 3% FBS
