Notes

Morphology: this line consists of two major morphological types, approximately 70% spindle-shaped cells (mean diameter = 18.22 × 57.70 μm) and 30% round cells (mean diameter = 22.19 μm); Growth characteristics: can be maintained as a suspension culture with no formation of cell aggregation or cell clumps, population doubling time = 25.4 hr; Unique properties: produces high levels of recombinant β-galactosidase and secreted alkaline phosphatase using a baculovirus expression vector system (3.97 ± 0.13 and × 104 IU/mL and 3.48 ± 0.40 IU/mL, respectively).
