ESTABLISHING MIDGUT CELL CULTURE FROM RHYNCHOPHORUS FERRUGINEUS (OLIVIER) AND TOXICITY ASSESSMENT AGAINST TEN DIFFERENT INSECTICIDES. In Vitro Cellular & Developmental Biology-Animal, 50(4), 296-303; Rizwan-ul-Haq, M., & Aljabr, A. M. (2015). RHYNCHOPHORUS FERRUGINEUS MIDGUT CELL LINE TO EVALUATE INSECTICIDAL POTENCY OF DIFFERENT PLANT ESSENTIAL OILS. In Vitro Cellular & Developmental Biology-Animal, 51(3), 281-286.
Morphology: mostly round shaped cells; Growth characteristics: cell density of 7.5 million cells/ml were observed after 72 hour in Grace's medium and 7.4-5.9 million cells/ml observed under TNM-FH medium; Unique properties: toxicity assays were performed on this cell line and observed mortality of more than 90% and 74% cell growth inhibition.
Grace's Insect medium; TNM-FH medium
