Research Interests

My research interests combine classic ecological study methods with modern analytical techniques, including both statistics and genetics. I am especially interested in how native biota responds to non-native competitors and the ever-changing climate. At the University of Kentucky, my work is to focus on species-specific adaptations to extreme environments through comparative physiology and transcriptomics. This will be achieved using species of midge (Chironomidae) found in Antarctica.
