Jonathan Larson, Assistant Professor, Extension, organized and served as Program Chair for the 2022 National Turfgrass Entomology Workshop held in Tempe, Arizona on April 26-27, attended by about 40 persons. This biannual workshop provides a forum for academic and industry scientists from across N. America to discuss regional pest management concerns, emerging issues, new products and technologies for the turfgrass industry, as well as recent advances in research, extension and teaching.  This year’s workshop included a behind-the-scenes visit to the NFL Arizona Cardinals’ football stadium (site of the 2023 Super Bowl) which features a unique rollout natural-grass playing field, contained in a single tray and weighing 19 million pounds, the first completely retractable field in North America.
